
My name is (Magda)Lena Matyjek and I’m a researcher in the field of neuropsychology and social cognition. I am currently a La Caixa Junior Leader Postdoctoral Fellow at at University Pompeu Fabra in Multisensory Research Group. My projects investigate mainly socio-cognitive strengths and atypicalities in autism and autistic traits.
I earned my BSc and MSc in Cognitive Science at Jagiellonian University in Krakow. With exchange programs, I also studied Cognitive Science at University of Vienna, Austria, and Neuropsychology at University of Wollongong, Australia. Then, I completed a doctoral program at Berlin School of Mind and Brain, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and was a Maria Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow with the EUTOPIA-SIF program at University Pompeu Fabra in Multisensory Research Group (PI: Prof Soto Faraco). For my second postdoc, I re-joined the Clinical Psychology of Social Interaction lab (PI: Prof Isabel Dziobek) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany with the DAAD PRIME Fellowship. Within this Fellowship, I was a visiting researcher at Social Systems Lab (PI: Prof Thalia Wheatley) at Dartmouth College and Social Cognition Lab (PI: Prof Antonia Hamilton) at University College London.
